Lothar Triebel established business in Dawson Creek in June, 1962.  He had completed his training as a watchmaker in his native Germany and had immigrated to Canada some years prior. After gaining experience in Toronto and Medicine Hat, the Triebels decided to make Dawson Creek home.

Lothar Triebel Jewellers operated as primarily a watch service shop, while ever increasing their jewellery and watch selection to better serve the clientele in the Peace River area.  Lothar’s commitment to servicing what he sold earned him and the jewellery store a solid reputation that has never diminished

The ensuing years brought changes to the business. The arrival of quartz watches forever changed the watch industry, allowing Lothar the opportunity to once again advance in his trade. An expansion doubled the square footage of the business and paved the way for a full scale jewellery repair shop.  The addition of Gerald to the  staff as fulltime  goldsmith supplemented the already excellent service available to their customers. 

In 1997, Lothar Triebel Jewellers once again made advances in customer service by taking on the challenge of the then uncharted waters of computer assisted design.  The Gemvision system was new to Canada at that time and Lothar Triebel Jewellers was one of ten retailers across the country to have the system.  Melanie and Gerald attended a specialty training course on the software/hardware combination and have since then upgraded the program as updates are made available.

Today, Lothar Triebel Jewellers offers a wide selection of fine jewellery including some of the most prestigious Canadian-made bridal and diamond jewellery, handmade solid gold pieces, Italian gold and silver chain as well as a variety of Swiss and Japanese timepieces.
